Covid 19 affecting business

The cancellation of hotel bookings and restricted travels due to covid-19 have raised fears that the country’s tourism sector may lose millions in revenue at a time the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) is also projecting 50 million job cuts in the tourism sector globally.

Tourism Business Council of Zimbabwe (TBCZ) representative, Barbara Murasiranwa confirmed that there has been some cancellation of bookings but however stressed that it is encouraging that the destination has no confirmed case of the disease.

Government has stepped up efforts to ensure that the Victoria Falls destination remains safe by taking measures to prevent the spread of the disease in the country.
