Zim impresses at shooting championships in Victoria Falls
Team Zimbabwe has been applauded for a commendable performance at the just concluded Shooting championships held in Victoria Falls.
Four-time world champion and current world number one Andras Szerdahely of Russia demonstrated immense skill and nerve to clinch the top prize after amassing 196 points while Multi-World Clay-Shooting champion George Digweed finished second with 193 points.
The Zimbabwe men’s team finished second after South Africa, with local shooter Nicholas Macdonald demonstrating superb timing and hand-eye coordination to finish third on the overall individuals’ standings with 192 points.
Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Matabeleland North Deputy director Mr Ophas Dube described the tournament as a success, including its positive impact on brand Zimbabwe.
