Zimbabwe urged to embrace cultural tourism
Zimbabwe has been urged to fully embrace and unlock the potential of cultural tourism with expectations from villagers in communities surrounding Victoria falls of increased village tours this year.
Ko Mpisi which is located 14 kilometres from the Victoria falls town, has remained one of the most popular village tours stop-over and has hosted many tourists over the past few years. Mr Melusi Mpisi is convinced that Zimbabwe has a lot to benefit from harnessing cultural tourism and is bullish of increased tourist traffic in 2020.
Tourists from different parts of the world say apart from the beautiful landscape, Zimbabwe rich culture makes it a must-visit destination.
According to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation UNWTO, cultural tourism is one of the largest and fastest-developing global tourism markets. An estimated four out of ten tourists choose their destination based on its cultural offering.
