ZIMRA in an effort to weed out corruption

Several former Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) workers are set to lose properties after the revenue collection agency conducted a lifestyle audit which established that most of them had acquired valuable assets which are way beyond their income.

The ZIMRA is tackling corruption head-on to stop the rot among its rank and file by conducting a lifestyle audit.

The audit has resulted in a number of employees being fired while their assets will be repossessed.

The authority’s Commissioner General Ms Faith Mazani told Khulumani fm news they are determined to weed out corruption in line with the transitional stabilisation programme.

Ms Mazani also added that they will descend on citizens owning valuable properties but not paying relevant taxes.
