Govt on a drive to reduce measles and rubella

The government and its partners are committed to eliminating measles and rubella through a vaccination campaign targeting children aged between 6 months and 5 years.

The campaign will run across the country from the 23rd to the 27th of this month. In Bulawayo all the council clinics will take part.

The national measles and rubella vaccination campaign and vitamin a supplementation was launched this Friday in Dema, Seke district, with residents of the area commending government efforts in fighting against diseases which affect young children.

Statistics from the country’s Immunisation programme from 2015 to date show an alarming increase in the number of children missing measles vaccinations, hence government’s initiative to eradicate the disease.
