Section 40 of the marriage bill removed

The controversial Section 40 of the Marriage bill which prescribes the realisation of civil partnerships has been removed.

This came out in a post-cabinet briefing held in the capital this Tuesday.

Cabinet also received the weekly energy and power supply status report.

Cabinet was informed that pertaining to the 400 mw Eskom power import scheme, negotiations were still underway and that a more definitive position on the outcome of the negotiations would be issued once the remaining loose ends have been concluded”
