Local currency welcome by rural folk

The scrapping of the multi-currency regime in favour of the adoption of a domestic currency has received a thumbs up from rural folk who revealed that they had been duped on  occassions during the multi-currency regime.

When economic issues are being discussed, the temptation to think that they only relate to those in urban centres is always rife.

However, this has turned out not to be true especially in relation to the challenges that were being felt by the masses during the period of the multi-currency regime.

A visit to rural Lupane at St Paul’s revealed a relieved community that had suffered from unfair practices through the use of the various currencies.

The villagers expressed their gratitude to the government for stepping in and coming to their rescue as they could now transact freely using the domestic currency.
