ZimParks manages to contain the anthrax outbreak in Zambezi

The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management authority say it has managed to contain the anthrax outbreak in Zambezi valley which claimed a total of 6 elephants, 3 buffaloes, a lion and an implala.

ZimParks which has been working together with other private stakeholders following the outbreak of anthrax in Hwange and Victoria falls say the infectious disease has now been brought under control. Reports from the authority show a total of 6 elephants and 3 buffaloes died as a result of anthrax outbreak in Hwange and Victoria falls.

ZimParks public relations manager Mr Tinashe Farawo says the authority is pleased to have contained the outbreak adding that measures are being put in place to strengthen surveillance mechanisms.
