Duo steal copper cables valued at US $3 900.
Two Bulawayo man were arraigned before Bulawayo magistrate Franklin Mkhwananzi facing charges of contravening the electricity act.
The accused Lungile Tshuma residing at number 7947/30 Sizinda Bulawayo and Talent Kampaundi aged 28 of house number c147 Njube Bulawayo are facing charges of receiving or taking into possession of any material used in connection with generation, transmission, distribution or supply of electricity.
It is the state case that on 22 April around 1530 hours, the accused person was burning copper conductors in his yard at his place of residence and the smoke attracted his neighbor Simbarashe Dzingisai who then looked over the durawall into the accused person yard.
The neighbor Mr Dzingisai asked the accused person to bring a sample of what he was burning to his house which led to Mr Dzingisai alerting his tenant Mr Mude Dube who is a police officer.
The duo stole copper cables weighing 195, 7 kg valued at us $3 914-00.
