Government keeps its promise

The government has disbursed the first quarter of the pledged $19.5 million for restocking shops and manufacturers that were affected by the violent protests in January this year.

 

The government has kept its promise of availing financial assistance to businesses that were devastated by acts of terror from hooligans who besieged major cities across the country by assisting the first batch of twenty-two business entities in Bulawayo.

Accompanied by the minister of industry and commerce and other government officials, the Minister of Finance and Economic Development Professor Mthuli Ncube toured wholesale centres and shops in the city to appreciate the restocking exercise of looted shops.

Professor Ncube expressed his satisfaction on the transparency and diligence upheld in the disbursement of the disbursed $4.9 million to affected shops.
