Judith Makwanya passed away late Monday night at West End Hospital following a short illness.
David Makwanya, brother to Judith said she succumbing to multiple organ failure.
She was admitted at West End hospital on Friday.
Born Judith Tendesai Makwanya on 22 October 1963 in Rusape, she joined ZBC on the first of June 1990 as a news reporter.

She was promoted to the position of Diplomatic Correspondent in October 2001.
She did her O and A levels at St Davids Girls High in Mutare between 1977 and 1982.
Between 1983 and 1989 she proceeded to the then USSR at Minsk State University where she obtained a Master of Arts in Journalism.
ZBC Chief Executive Officer Mr Patrick Mavhura expressed deep shock on the sudden passing on of Judith saying as ZBC, “we are deeply shocked and saddened at the passing on of Judith Makwanya, a giant of Zimbabwean broadcast journalism and one of our longest serving members of staff”.
Mr Mavhura said Judith was a gifted and hardworking professional, unflinching patriot and a truly wonderful person.
He assured the Makwanya family that they are not alone during this trying time.
Mourners are gathered at 98 Zambezi Flats in Harare.
