Call for Zim to consider the introduction of criminology
The Hwange Circuit Court 2019 legal year official opening ceremony has been held with calls for the country to consider the introduction of criminology as a profession in Zimbabwe as part of strategy towards creating a crime free society.
Bulawayo high court judge justice Maxwell Takuva who was the guest of honour during the event made a plea to tertiary institutions to consider offering criminology from undergraduate level with particular focus on ways of preventing crime and finding appropriate ways of rehabilitation.
The Hwange high court circuit has a total of 14 cases involving violent killings of human beings set for trial in the next two weeks. The official opening ceremony was graced by government officials, members of the Hwange and Victoria Falls business community, traditional leaders, services chiefs and other legal practitioners from the Matebeleland North province.
