On arrival, the body will be taken to his home in Khumalo, Bulawayo where it will lie in state.
Sister to the late national hero, Cde Jane Ndlovu told the KhulumaniFM that they want his body taken home in Sanzukwe in Mangwe, Matabeleland South Province before a church service whose venue is yet to be decided in Bulawayo, after which the body will be flown to Harare for burial and the national shrine.
“My brother was a man of the people at our rural home so we want his body taken home so that his people will bid him farewell,” she said.
The family has indicated that Saturday could be the burial date given that some of the children who are abroad are expected home on Thursday.
Professor Ndlovu is survived by his wife Angeline, four children, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mourners are gathered at number 3 Fletcher Avenue in Khumalo, Bulawayo.
