Cancer mortality high in Zimbabwe

Cancer mortality remains high in Zimbabwe and other developing countries due to late presentation of the disease and a call has been made for increased awareness campaigns for early detection.
Speaking on the sidelines of their Pinktober Cricket Fundraising tournament, Triangle Lions club Public Relations officer Leslie Grobler said there is need to support cancer awareness campaigns especially in remote areas as many are dying in silence due to lack of knowledge and late detection.
October is known to be the breast cancer awareness month where cancer charities try to reach people educating them on the disease and raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.
