Minister tours developmental projects in Mat North

The Minister of State for Matabeleland North Cde Richard Moyo has toured developmental projects in the province.
As part of efforts to acquaint himself with projects in his province, minister moyo visited the Gwayi – Tshangani dam construction site and the Hwange expansion project.
The first port of call was the dam site where the Minister was briefed on progress.
It was highlighted that despite the challenges that were being experienced along the way, the work was progressing satisfactorily.
The dam is expected to provide employment and various other opportunities for locals during and after its construction.
Next, the minister and his entourage visited the Hwange expansion project that will see the construction of a power station that will add 600 megawatts to the national grid.
While it was revealed that the project was currently experiencing challenges in bringing in relevant equipment as it is yet to be given the national project status, work is underway with hopes of completion within the set deadlines of 42 months.
