Victoria Falls Mayoral wrangle continues

The Victoria Falls Mayoral wrangle continues following the decision by MDC Alliance leadership to summon the eleven elected Councillors to Harare where the recently sworn in Mayor Somvelo Dhlamini was asked to step down.
The developments have angered the Victoria Falls residents who have warned the MDC Alliance that they will not tolerate the move by the leadership of the party to impose a mayor despite the mayoral elections having been conducted in adherence to the Urban Councils Act.
Victoria alls town Clerk Mr Ronnie Dube highlighted that it is unfortunate that council business is being affected due to the Mayoral wrangle with the planned budget consultations having been postponed.
MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa has been criticised for his dictatorial tendencies following his decision to force Masvingo Mayor advocate Collins Maboke as well as Chegutu Mayor Henry Muchatibaya to both resign as they were not his preferred candidates.
