Philanthropist donates to Mpilo hospital

A United -Kingdom based philanthropist Dumisani Moyo of Dumi International Aid has refurbished ward B6 at Mpilo hospital in Bulawayo. Like most health institutions in the country, ward B6 has not been spared by the economic challenges. The ward had become so obsolete to a point that it had become dangerous for patients.
Speaking during the a handover ceremony of the refurbished ward Mr Moyo urged citizens to be self reliant in achieving sustainable development goals in the health sector rather than waiting for donors.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Child Care says it has noticed a rising trend in the prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension in the country as compared to previous years. The acting Permanent Secretary Dr Mhlanga said there is need for the country to start paying more attention these non-communicable diseases which are closely linked to lifestyle.
