Matabeleland North advised to continue manage and preserve environment

The community of Matabeleland North has been advised to continue managing and preserving its environment against veld fires, which last year ravaged vast tracks of land where Hwange and Bubi were the most affected.
In an interview with Khulumani fm news the Provincial Environmental Management Agency Manager for Matabeleland North Province Mrs Chipo Mpofu-Zuze, said their engagement with the community continues to yield the desired results as shown by the fewer areas that have been ravaged by fire this year.
She however said the fewer areas that have been affected remain a concern as this affects animals and the vegetation at large.
Mrs Mpofu-Zuze also challenged the small scale miners and religious groups to stop open space defecation and make available ablution facilities so that diseases such as measles in animals which has become a good cost to farmers as some of their animals are condemned at slaughter due to measles.
