The bombing that occurred at White City stadium during a campaign rally by the President Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa did not deter people from Bulawayo from coming to support the Defence Forces on this special day and the jovial atmosphere gave the impression that they are happy to have a professional force that is internationally recognized and has been included in a number of United Nations, African Union and SADC peace keeping missions.
The Zimbabwe Defence Forces has remained the envy of Africa as it is a disciplined force.
Proceedings at the White City started with the arrival of guest of honor, the Minister of State for Bulawayo province Cde Angeline Masuku who first inspected a guard of honor where she was accompanied by the Commander One Brigade Brigadier General Augustine Chipwere.
Later Cde Masuku read the President’s speech after which the crowd was entertained by the drill displays and more entertainment dished out by local art groups.
